Every day you are bombarded with messages telling you what you need to do/say/think in order to be acceptable. If you wear certain clothes, look a certain way, drink certain beverages, and believe certain things, you’ll be part of the “in” crowd. The problem with that thinking is that it changes, and you’re expected to change with it. It’s an exhausting way to live, don’t you think?
Instead of focusing on the shifting opinions and standards of the world around you, my prayer is that you’ll discover you are truly loved simply because you’re you. There’s no need to try to measure up–you already do! Jesus Christ willingly went to the cross for you because He loves you. It doesn’t matter what anyone else says about you – the cross says it all.
